I am here only to express the issue of Mihrim. In Yemen, women are not allowed to move from one governorate to another without the consent of their Mihrim, like husband, father or brother. As a woman here at this moment, I do not have the freedom to express my identity and I do not have the right to move from one governorate to another. That is why when I want to travel with my colleague from one place to another, I have to hide my identity, and unfortunately, I lie.
I had to hide my identity and take out my colleague's sister's identity and act as if I was now my colleague's sister. I am not allowed to travel from one place to another.
I do not have the ability to express my identity because of social taboos and Mihrim in Yemen. The consent of the Mihrim is a very important thing for us, and this is unfair to. Especially since after the war in 2015, they unified the idea that women have no right to move from one place to another without the approval of the Mihrim at the level of an hour or two. This is very unfair to us, especially since women have an active role in society, at home, at work, and in other places. In order to move from one region to another, I have to take my colleague's ID. So that we may pass in peace on the way. If they ask me, who are you? I cannot disclose my identity. Unfortunately, what I do to deal with this matter in my life is not correct, but in our current situation because of Houthis or the south, I dealt with it in this way, even if I lie. It's these social taboos that I think influence.
After the 2015 war, the obstacle that women face has become that they do not have the right to participate in peace processes, they do not have the right to participate in a political role, they do not have the right to participate in conferences, and this means that it negatively affects us as women. We do not have the ability to participate in anything because of the Mihrim thing. Women no longer have the right to be present in these posts. This is what I can think of now.
